Default NCsoft Lawsuit

http://www.whatpc.co.uk/vnunet/news/...ft-victims-sue

As i was looking through an online news site (digg.com) I ran across this interesting article. For those that dont want to read it, it basically says that NCsoft is being sued for accounts being created with stolen IDs. These accounts were then used to farm places by what amounts to sweatshop workers. This suit is based around Lineage 2 but with the recent nerf to the desert I started thinking. I dont know if maybe its something to do with the lawsuit but dont you guys think its a little odd that now, of all time, they would decide to nerf the largest farming place in all of tyria. It may just be a coincidence but it got me thinking and I thought it should be shared.

Now THERE's food for thought...

Thanks for sharing this ApOcAlYpSe.

edit: It's dated March 2/06 as well.

A lot of ppl were complaining about the bots griffon farming and upsetting the economy. In my opinion, this was the only reason why a mild nerf was introduced.

An interesting read, indeed.

I seriously doubt they will win their case, NCSoft gave accounts on good faith that they were not being misrepresented.

It's like suing the 7-11 after the guy who stole your identity went and bought a whole bunch of things from the store. That's a little silly.

I'm curious as to why this was moved to the Off Topic board..

the article specifically mentions Gw and last time I checked, Riverside was the correct place for "community discussion on Guild Wars related topics"..

any comment from the mods?

I'd guess that since its in connection with Lineage primarily, its off-topic. Plus its ncsoft, who are of course involved in GW, but its mainly Anet who are in charge of GW. Interesting article... though I'm with the previous opinion that they probably won't get anywhere with it; far too easy to sign up for stuff on the internet without the other people (ncsoft) knowing about it or without having concrete evidence that ncsoft knew about it. Easy for them to deny, hard for someone to prove.
